Regulation F

Regulation F is the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's rule implementing the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, effective November 2021. It sets specific requirements for collector communications — including a call-frequency limit, rules for email and text contact, and the standardized validation notice.

What Regulation F means for creditors

Regulation F raised the operational bar for compliant collection. MSB's workflows are built around its call-frequency and disclosure rules, so creditors placing accounts inherit a compliant process rather than assuming the risk themselves.
