Suspect Fraud or Impersonation?

Scammers sometimes pose as collection agencies — or as the hospitals, utilities, and businesses we represent. If something feels wrong, verify before you pay anything.

1. Verify it's really MSB

Check the number against the directory above. Important: caller ID can be spoofed — even a matching number isn't absolute proof. When in doubt, hang up and call us back directly at (800) 362-0272 or verify your account at www.msb-bill.com. We will never pressure you to pay by gift card, wire transfer, or cryptocurrency.

2. Report it to us

If someone is impersonating MSB or one of our clients, we want to know immediately. Call (800) 362-0272 or email hello@msbureau.com with the phone number, date, and what was said. We investigate every report and can confirm whether any account or communication is genuine.

3. Report it to authorities

Debt collection scams should also be reported to the Federal Trade Commission and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Your state attorney general's consumer protection office can also act on impersonation reports.
