Validation Notice

A validation notice (or debt validation letter) is the written notice a debt collector must provide that states the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor, and the consumer's right to dispute it. Under the CFPB's Regulation F, this information is delivered on a standardized Model Validation Notice near the start of collection.

What Validation Notice means for creditors

Proper validation is the compliance foundation of every consumer placement. MSB issues Regulation F–compliant validation notices on every account, protecting creditors from FDCPA liability tied to a vendor's paperwork.
